Everything you need to run New Day on a ward: guides for families, staff, and the ward manager.
How to send messages, photos, music and memories to your loved one.
1
First sign-in
1
Your invitation
Whoever manages the resident sends you an SMS with a personal invitation link. Open it on your phone.
2
Verify your phone
Enter the phone number the invitation was sent to and the SMS code you receive.
3
Password (optional)
You can set a password to sign in next time without SMS. In management: "Set a sign-in password".
2
Sending a message
The message shows with the name, relationship and photo from your family card.
1
Open "Messages"
In management tap the "Messages" card.
2
Write, record or film
Send text, a voice recording or a video. To record, tap to start and tap again to stop.
3
On the tablet
The tablet checks for new messages about every half minute. Depending on the setting, the resident taps "I got the message", or messages move to the archive when opened.
3
Adding a memory or story
1
Open family cards
In management → "Family cards" choose the relevant card.
2
Write the memory
Title, text and date; you can add photos.
3
Where it appears
The memory belongs to that family member and appears on their card on the resident's screen.
4
Photos, music and your card
1
Photos
In management → "Photo gallery" upload a photo. From your phone you can pick up to 10 at a time. Photos up to 8MB, video up to 40MB. iPhone HEIC photos are not converted and may not open on Android — JPG is safer.
2
Music
In management → "Music" add a YouTube link or an MP3 file. It plays from the resident's music screen with one tap.
3
Your card
In "Family cards" add a clear face photo, name and relationship (e.g. "your daughter") so the resident recognises you in messages and games.
5
What the resident sees
1
Home screen
Date, time and weather (date only if weather is unavailable), with buttons for messages, photos, music, the day's schedule and family.
2
Read aloud
If read-aloud is enabled in settings, a read-aloud button speaks the text; automatic reading is also available.
3
Memory games and final screen
Memory games include "Who is it?", "Pairs" and "Family tree" using family photos. The final screen has buttons such as "Call me".
